Description
Neelum Valley is a long valley located in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It runs alongside the Neelum River. The valley starts from Muzaffarabad and goes north up to Taobat. It is known for its green hills, thick forests, and river views. Many small villages are found here. People visit this area for peace and nature. It is a border area with India.

Best Season to Visit

Monsoon/Rainy: /Rainy: (July to September) Heavy rains can happen, leading to landslides and making roads risky. Travel during this time is not advised.
Autumn: (September to November) The weather is cool and clear. Trees change colors, offering beautiful views. It is a good time for quiet travel.
Winter: (December to February) It gets very cold with heavy snowfall. Many roads may close, and access to upper parts of the valley becomes difficult.
How to Reach
- By Air: The nearest active airport is Islamabad International Airport (ISB). It is about 5-6 hours drive from Muzaffarabad, which is the gateway to Neelum Valley.
- By Road: Access to Neelum Valley is mainly from Muzaffarabad via the Neelum Valley Road. The road can be narrow and winding in places.
- By Train: The nearest active railway station is Rawalpindi Railway Station (RWP). From Rawalpindi, you would need to travel by road to Muzaffarabad and then into Neelum Valley.
- By Public Transport: Local vans and jeeps regularly run from Muzaffarabad to various towns in Neelum Valley, like Athmuqam, Sharda, and Kel.
